The Church and The Man of God

Our Senior Pastor, Apostle Robert M. Callaham, Sr. was reared in Alexandria, Virginia.  He is the fourth of eight children born to the late Mr. Willie and the late Mrs. Mozelle Callaham. He attended Beulah Baptist Church of Alexandria, Virginia until the age of nine, and then joined Mt. Sinai Pentecostal Church of Alexandria, Virginia. In 1965 he received Christ as his personal Lord and Savior and was baptized in the Holy Spirit. At age 17, he answered the call to preach the Gospel of Jesus and has been doing so for the last 52 years. Under the pastoral care of Overseer H.E. Woods, Apostle Callaham became a member of the Saint Paul Pentecostal Church. He was ordained as an elder in 1973 by Bishop Warren Hicks and was promoted to Assistant Pastor in 1973.  He remained in the position until 1983, at which time he was elevated to Pastor. In 1978 Apostle Callaham was State Overseer and in 1987 was lifted to be Presiding Bishop of Saint Paul Pentecostal Church, Inc. Because of his obedience to the Father, the leadership of the Holy Spirit, and the continued support of his family and congregation; Saint Paul Pentecostal Church moved to its present location on Monroe Avenue in 1995.  The mortgage was paid in 4 years. The church was then renamed to Saint Paul Christian Center. With faith the size of a mustard seed, God can move mountains.  In August 2013, Senior Pastor Callaham was elevated to Apostle. We give God the Glory.

Apostle Callaham received his education in the public schools of Alexandria, Virginia. A graduate of T.C. Williams Senior High School where he served four years as Class President and as National Vice President of Vocational Industrial Clubs of America.  He graduated Cum Laude in 3-1/2 years with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Technology Education from Virginia State University. Apostle received his Postgraduate Professional Teaching License in 1989 and the Graduate Professional Teaching License in 1977 from the Commonwealth of Virginia.  He furthered his education by taking undergraduate studies at Penn State University and graduate studies at Drexel University.  In 1989, he received a Master of Divinity Degree from Lancaster Theological Seminary, Lancaster Pennsylvania.

Upon graduating in 1976, Apostle Callaham taught school briefly in Richmond, Virginia. In 1977 he was employed at Caterpillar, Inc. as part of their Plant Operations Training Program in Peoria, Illinois.  After successfully completing the program, his need to be closer to home and church prompted his request for relocation to a plant closest to Alexandria, Virginia. His wish was granted, and the family moved to York, Pennsylvania.  Over a period of 19 years, he was promoted to the following management positions: Materials Distribution, Manufacturing, Systems Coordinator and Purchasing.

Apostle Callaham’s family is an excellent example of diligence and devotion. The family commuted from York, Pennsylvania to Alexandria each weekend for 19 years until the York Plant closing and they were relocated to Joliet, Illinois in 1996. But that did not hinder the progress and success, nor did they miss a step – the family traveled by airplanes from Illinois to Virginia for 2-1/2 years, with him missing only three Sundays. During his tenure at the Joliet Plant, Apostle was the Manager of Purchasing Logistics, supervising a team that scheduled over 100 million dollars in production materials to build large mining products. But the mighty Hand of God moved once again, and in 1999, the family was able to relocate back to Pennsylvania and build a beautiful home in Lititz, Pennsylvania.  Once again, Apostle and his family commuted from Lancaster, Pa to Alexandria, Virginia from June 1999 to December 2019.  He held the following Management positions From June 1999 to December 2015: Inventory Management, Logistics Distribution, and Materials Distribution.

.

We have learned through our Apostle that: “We can do all things through Christ who strengthens us.” “We must not only speak the Word but live the Word.”

Apostle is the husband to Pastor Sarah, his college sweetheart.  They will celebrate their 48th anniversary on June 18, 2024. He is the father of 4 children and 4 grandchildren.

Apostle believes in being spiritually fit through fasting, lovingly spending quiet time with God in prayer and studying His Holy Word.  He believes in being physically fit by jogging and weightlifting. Apostle also enjoys reading and writing.

Apostle retired from Caterpillar on January 1, 2016 after 39 years and 11 months of service.  The family relocated to Fredericksburg, Virginia in December 2019. Apostle Callaham is a full-time Minister of God and enjoys working with God’s people and the community.

Apostle’s spiritual aspiration is not to have a big church nor be anyone special, but to do the Will of the Father.  Jesus is the Chief Pastor to guide him in the direction he must go to preach the Word, to teach the Word and to Win Souls for Christ. By doing this, the Apostle truly believes his living will not be in vain.
